I do a lot of traveling by airplane.
My backpack is already over the weight limit for cabin luggage all the time with my 800mm and 500mm inside. Plus some little stuff.
To not make things worse, I carry my pro bodies in my photo vest.
To give the bodies some extra protection I put them both in a BodyBag Pro to give them extra protection. Works great and doesn't add much to the weight.
