I have not had a chance to test the new tripod covers in the field, but my initial impression is that they are exactly what I expected and appear to be more the adequate for the job of 1) protecting the legs, 2) breaking up the outline of the tripod to help in acquiring bird and other wildlife photos, and 3) providing cold weather protection for my hands while handling the tripod. We\'ll see if it lives up to it\'s initial impression.
