Purchased this primarily for protection against scratches and dings. It works very well for this purpose. I found this product to be well made and easy to fit onto my lens. I'm able to change settings (min focus range, stabilization mode, etc.) through the plastic "windows." I would recommend this to anyone looking for protection for their expensive lenses.
