LensCoat® for the Sigma 300-800

LensCoat® Sigma 300-800 telephoto lens cover offers your valuable equipment some protection from scrapes and bumps, preserving its resale value. It also helps break up the shape of your lens, making it less noticeable to wildlife.

The LensCoat® Sigma 300-800 features a clear plastic windows over the auto focus controls and also the distance scale. A small hole on the last segment lines up with the white dot indictor, making it easy to quickly line up your lens with camera mount even with the cover installed.

The Canon White LensCoat was a special order yet delivery didn't seem to take any longer. The instructions were clear and installation was very simple. The sections fit very well and they stay in place. I purchased the LensCoat to protect the lens from the hot sun as well as from day to day handling...

Fits easily and well to the lens. The stick on pieces provided have a tendancy to lift at the ends, this may just be because of the use in a hot environment...

It’s a nice looking lens cover and it definitely protects the lens from scratches. If you want to keep your lens looking like new this is the way to do it...

Thought I would share my opinions and write a review about the Lenscoat I have just purchased for my Sigma 300-800 My initial concerns were for my sanity! Was it really worth spending almost £90 on a few pieces of camo material? After receiving the product from lenscoat.com at a cost £71 inclusive of postage and shipping insurance plus an unexpected £15 Import tax grrrrrr. I needed to convince myself I had done the right thing, not easy the mood I was in! Well' surpassing all my expectations, I was more than pleased with the product. The material used is a sort strong but supple elasticised padded nylon, similar to that used for knee strapping or mouse mats with the camo material on the outside. Thick enough to protect the lens from any surface scratches and bumps. (The reason I bought it!!) but not too thick as to be a nuisance. Each separate piece of material was stretched snugly over various parts of the lens. Those parts of the lens that needed to be free to rotate were given a separate piece of the same material with a peel off adhesive backing tape. This may or may not leave a residue I never asked but either way you can decide if its worth putting these very slim strips pieces on. The material fitted to every contour of the lens with holes in the right places for nobs and switches and theres a plastic wndow cut out so to read your focusing distances on the lens. Overall I would certainly recommend the product as a protection against everyday scratches and scrapes. The realtree advantage classic camo material might come in handy too at some stage. Because its a new product Its not possible to say how durable it will be over time but it does look worthy. Some may still find the product to expensive so I have given it 8/10. The above is a personal opinion only..
