Thought I would share my opinions and write a review about the Lenscoat I have just purchased for my Sigma 300-800 My initial concerns were for my sanity! Was it really worth spending almost £90 on a few pieces of camo material? After receiving the product from lenscoat.com at a cost £71 inclusive of postage and shipping insurance plus an unexpected £15 Import tax grrrrrr. I needed to convince myself I had done the right thing, not easy the mood I was in! Well\' surpassing all my expectations, I was more than pleased with the product. The material used is a sort strong but supple elasticised padded nylon, similar to that used for knee strapping or mouse mats with the camo material on the outside. Thick enough to protect the lens from any surface scratches and bumps. (The reason I bought it!!) but not too thick as to be a nuisance. Each separate piece of material was stretched snugly over various parts of the lens. Those parts of the lens that needed to be free to rotate were given a separate piece of the same material with a peel off adhesive backing tape. This may or may not leave a residue I never asked but either way you can decide if its worth putting these very slim strips pieces on. The material fitted to every contour of the lens with holes in the right places for nobs and switches and theres a plastic wndow cut out so to read your focusing distances on the lens. Overall I would certainly recommend the product as a protection against everyday scratches and scrapes. The realtree advantage classic camo material might come in handy too at some stage. Because its a new product Its not possible to say how durable it will be over time but it does look worthy. Some may still find the product to expensive so I have given it 8/10. The above is a personal opinion only..
