My new Lenscoat raincoat 2 prevents wet weather, mud, dirt or salt spray and other undesirables from even contacting the camera. Mine is well used and tested on the coast, at the beach, in the rain forest and it works well. Additionally, while the raincoat keeps the weather out it is still easy to get your hands to the camera's controls and your eye to the view finder and the rear screen.
I would strongly advise anyone who wants to use their camera in less than perfect atmospheric conditions to get the Raincoat 2. It can remain on the camera if you need to use a tripod.
If you like to clean your camera carefully to wipe down rain and remove other undesirables, then you don't want one of these.
I am not one of these people I prefer to use my camera more and clean it less.

I live in Oregon where it does rain on occasion and have tried plastic bags, towels, umbrellas and hats to keep my gear dry. This year the Raincoat 2 is going to be put to work. First thing is to practice putting it on so you understand how it works and what access you have with the hand holes. I am happy with the quality and thoughtfulness putting this together into a usable and valuable tool.
Good Morning

★★★★★My Lens Coat Tripod Leg Covers are great. Great quality and easy to install. The covers keep the black tripod legs cool in the summer and I am sure warm in the winter. I recommend them highly!..
